We are thrilled to share that Melody of Hope was recently highlighted in the Celina Record for our participation in this year’s North Texas Giving Day!
The feature story, “Celina nonprofits profit to the tune of thousands” by Zach Freeman, shined a spotlight on how local organizations come together to bring meaningful change, art, and support to our North Texas community.
North Texas Giving Day is always an inspiring milestone for local non-profits, with nearly 100,000 donors region-wide raising $76 million. Thanks to our incredible supporters, Melody of Hope raised approximately $60,000 toward our $75,000 goal—reaching 80% of our target and surpassing last year’s total!
Every dollar raised directly fuels our mission: building live music programs for fundraisers, community events, and galas at no cost to partner nonprofits, while fairly compensating local musical artists.
As our founder Charlie Welch shared with the Celina Record:
“It’s very humbling… ‘Donor relations, it’s a partnership to us, and so we always try to go in and say, ‘How can we help your business get your brand out to our network?’ So we’ve really created this ecosystem of businesses and nonprofits and civic leaders…”
Founded 13 years ago, Melody of Hope has grown to support around 300 events this year, collaborating with over 30 non-profit partners across the greater North Texas region.
Beyond community galas and events, funds raised during North Texas Giving Day allow us to expand our specialized music therapy programs in partnership with organizations like Baylor Scott & White and The Treasured Vessels Foundation, bringing live music directly into hospital and therapy settings where healing is needed most.
“We care about the whole health of the artist, not just a dollar sign. We care about their mental health, spiritual health. We don’t want them to have this starving artist stigma. I think artists know that if they come to us, they’re going to be taken care of and the community as a whole knows that.” — Charlie Welch, Founder
We also want to congratulate our fellow local non-profits highlighted in the article, including Neighbors Nourishing Neighbors (N3) and the Celina Education Foundation. Together, we are building a stronger, more connected community.
